QUICK START
INSTRUCTION.
If you are a first time user, you can learn how to upload a data
set in three steps:
1. Please read the on-line help page by
CLICKING HERE
2.
Please download one of sample input files
(GDS167) in a format
(
soft,
csv
or txt)
to your hard drive (e.g. C:\temp\). If you downloaded the SOFT format file
(
GDS167.soft), the uploading
process would be almost automated. If you chose csv or txt as an input format
(
GDS167.csv
or
GDS167.txt), you might
have to enter several parameters for the data set. For the sample data set (GDS167), there is a simple two group
comparison between wild type mouse samples (wt1,2,3) and transgenic mouse samples (tg1,2,3).
3. Select group number "2" for the testing sample data set GDS167
from the pulled-down menu ("Select group number:") below. Then, you can click the
button "Browse ..." to open your file (e.g. GDS167.soft) in your hard drive (e.g.
C:\temp\). Finally, you can click the "Upload File" button. Please find the
correct parameters for GDS167.txt or GDS167.csv
here.
The uploading performance may vary depending on many factors. For a regular DSL (1
Mbps) connection, the predicated time for a file to be uploaded is around 40 seconds per
1 MB file size. If your file size is larger than 6 MB, you might receive
a "time out
exception error" or "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" from your browser. In this case, please make your file into
the NCBI GEO
"SOFT" data format and
contact us
for the special FTP uploading.
